Quick soup from 2 potatoes, special for busy men

Step 1 - I prepare the magic ingredients
It's lunch break on a beautiful work day. I have no food at home, so I start with bread and jam and get to making a light potato soup. I analyze the fridge and notice I have frozen vegetables and two potatoes in the drawer. It's okay, maybe something will come out of this.

Step 2 - Two potatoes might be enough
I realize I only have two potatoes. I apply the classic parent technique, exactly like when the child wants two slices of bread with butter and you cut one in half to tell them: "look, we have two slices". So I do the same with the potatoes, I cut them into many pieces and create the perfect optical illusion that there are more than in reality.

Step 3 - Put the vegetables together
I throw the potatoes together with the onion and frozen vegetables. Since they're all about the same size, I'm sure they'll boil at the same time, or at least that's what I hope. I also throw in two slices of bell pepper, so the photo looks good for Instagram.

Step 4 - We eat the bell pepper
I go to Taia to give her the bell pepper, because I don't need it for the soup, nothing in my recipe mentions it.

Step 5 - Taia has fire
I come back from the kitchen and shout at Taia because the cheese she started making is on fire. As if it wasn't enough that we have a small stove, now Taia also wants to cook at the same time.

Step 6 - My meat is boiling
Meanwhile, my meat, alongside Taia's cheese, is boiling happily and can't wait to get into my belly.

Step 7 - I take out the homemade noodles
I take out the homemade noodles and demonstrate that I also have nice containers with lids, not just the cheap ones from the market.

Step 8 - I measure the noodles
I measure the noodles, because last time I eyeballed it and instead of soup, I got a portion of homemade pasta.

Step 9 - I remove the nasty foam
I start removing the nasty foam that accumulates on top of the soup. I wonder where this chicken has been rolling around, that so much filth comes out of it, even though I washed it at the beginning.
I won't put a photo, it'll ruin your appetite.
Step 10 - I wait for the meat to boil
I wait for the meat to boil, but I have no patience. I don't put the lid on, because mine isn't transparent and if I put it on, the water sometimes spills on the floor.
Step 11 - I taste the meat and I'm amazed
I taste the meat to see if it's ready, it seems tough, until I realize I'm actually biting into the bone. I got chicken back for soup, because it turns out better that way, and the financial situation in Romania anyway doesn't allow me to buy drumsticks too often.

sStep 12 - The meat is ready
The meat is ready, I take it out nicely and I'm amazed at how yellow the broth is. It must have been free-range chicken, fed with natural corn and pampered with symphonic music. That's how grandma used to do it too, it always came out yellow.

Step 13 - I add more water and vegetable powder
I add more water to the pot, because I didn't work for nothing for just two portions of soup. I throw the vegetables in the pot, plus a spoonful of vegetable powder, in case the frozen ones aren't enough.

Step 14 - I pick the meat off the bone
I pick the meat off the bone for my daughter, and I keep the bones for my personal happiness. When you see how hard money is to make, you don't throw bones in the trash so easily anymore, especially when they still have pieces of meat on them.

Step 15 - I put the meat back
I put the meat back, throw in the noodles and boil them for exactly 45.5 seconds. I taste a few times, I burn myself each time, but I conclude that it needs more salt, because the carrot and peas have sweetened the soup. I put a handful, two and another teaspoon of salt, turn off the heat and let the soup rest.
Final result: a delicious soup, with just two potatoes and still water. Try it yourself with confidence.

Step 16 - The hunger is great
The hunger is great, so I don't wait for the soup to rest anymore. I eat it tired now at noon, and in the evening I'll have another portion of rested soup together with my daughter, when she returns from kindergarten.
Later in the evening...
My daughter said she doesn't like the soup.
More for me...
